Hey there!  Thanks for visiting my website.  My name is Susan, and I’m a pharmacist-animator.  I have a doctorate-level degree in pharmacy but decided that I was very sad not working in a creative field, and went back to art school.  Now I’m a filmmaker and animator, as well!  One who is licensed to dispense heart medication to you.

I work mainly in Flash, but value a hand-drawn look to all of my work.  It is very important to me that my animation looks like it was done by a human, and not by a robot.  (Although I love robots.)  Most of my personal animation is child-friendly and whimsical, but I have also worked on a PBS documentary and other films that deal with more serious issues.

I love working on independent films and documentaries, but am open to working on any project, large or small.  I am also available for illustration work.  I am creative, energetic, and also responsible and organized (that’s the pharmacist side).  I currently reside in Portland, OR.  Please email me at susan.chien@gmail.com if you would like to just say hi, or if you would like to hire me for a project.  Cheers!
